Tale of Veitzen
As you approach the inn, you see the sign above the door reads ’Wyne’s Inn’. The inside of the inn is elegantly decorated. It is obvious someone spent a lot of time tidying up, despite the fact that quite a few townsfolk occupy the stools and tables spread about the room. Even so, the inn is very quiet, with only the occasional murmur or clinking glass to be heard.
A short, pretty elf girl walks up to you, carrying a tray with a few drinks on it. “Welcome to Stomas Wyne‘s Inn! I can show you to a table if you want food and drink, or did you want to arrange accommodations?”
The girls name is Joyce, and the PCs can make a knowledge geography DC 10 to realize she does not have an elvish name, if they aren’t an elf themselves(if they are, Joyce acts nervously around them). This reveals her back-story of being raised in the town since she was born, after being abandoned nearby.
A knowledge local DC 15 reveals she must be a half-elf for elves to abandon her. If any elves in the party fail a CHA DC 10, she won’t elaborate. If not, she admits to being half-elf, half-halfling.
When asked about the town trouble, she says there’s always something going on, and it will be fine after a while.
Approaching the bar:
The proprietor of the inn stands behind the bar, rubbing the counter top halfheartedly with a clean cloth. As you approach, he looks up and smiles.
“Good morning, friends. What can I do for you?”
If the PCs know nothing about Joyce, he tells them she’s lived in the village a while and recently started work. If they found things out, he says that Vyncis and Bilia took her in about 15 years ago. Either way, he says she’s hardworking and honest, just like her parents.
When asked about the town trouble, he says that things have been worse than they have ever been, and they need help soon or people will start leaving. The town hardly has any tourists.
PCs can rent a room for 4 GP a night, or buy drinks at 10 SP each.
